Valentine's Day Roundup!

February 17, 2015.  Wadsworth, IL.  As we all know, this past weekend was Valentine's day!  Single, in a relationship, married, this holiday doesn't have to be about all the mushy-gushy stuff it's made out to be.  To emphasize this, I wanted to share with all of you how I spent my Valentine's morning, making chocolate covered strawberries!  After making these delicious berries, I decided to give away some to my neighbors so that they could feel the holiday love/appreciation!  So... Let's get into how to do it because it is the easiest thing ever!
The process is super easy, all you have to do is purchase the chocolate and follow the instructions on the containers (be prepared because the chocolate will re-harden if you don't keep stirring).  I wanted to take it a step further, of course, by making some of the chocolate pink (which means you will need white chocolate and food dye), coating the berries with sprinkles, and writing on the hardened chocolate!  When first covering the strawberries in chocolate, fully immerse them in the chocolate and swirl it around in the tub to get the chocolate all over, it can be a little messy!  Next, moving quickly, "throw" sprinkles on the strawberries, do not roll them in the sprinkles because then all the sprinkles will just stick together as they are too now coated in chocolate.  Be creative, or just smother the babies in chocolate, either way they will be delicious!
My last tip is with the left over chocolate make little candies to add to your presentation!
Good luck, and enjoy!
