Call Me Julia Child

March 13, 2015: Champaign, IL.  Its no surprise when I say cooking is my favorite hobby, right up there with baking!  When I set out to try a new recipe I prefer to find something challenging and full of ingredients I know I will enjoy.  French cooking is a very daunting thing for many people, with the thirty ingredients in every recipe and specific temperatures they all belong at, it's easy for delicious dishes turn into failures.  Since mastering the French Macaron I have been in search of a new difficult recipe to impress my friends and family, so this weekend I made my first attempt at Pat a Choux.  It is a little pastry puff that can be filled with both sweet and savory fillings, or just sprinkled with sugar like I did.
They didn't turn out completely perfect or uniform in size, but they tasted delicious and were gone within two hours!  I recommend a fruit flavored buttercream filling with a little extra sugar on top for that extra sweetness (not that it needs it!).  Have a great weekend everyone!
